The Vibraphone Virtuosity Series features material that will help develop a contemporary vibist’s technique and musicianship. This volume includes 35 multi-stylistic etudes, chordal exercises, progressive intervallic studies, scale/sticking exercises, and more. Techniques covered include 2- and 4-mallet playing, mallet dampenings, pedaling, and musical phrasing. Suggested stickings are provided, as well as Kovins’ commentary on each piece. Each etude is performed on the accompanying CD.
