Carousel for Marimba and Vibra – Jazz-Duo, 4 Schlägel, schwer

Carousel by David Friedman and Dave Samuels is an incredible duet for vibraphone and marimba, originally performed by the composers’ duo called Double Image. Originally, Carousel was performed organically, with no two performances exactly alike. eventually they decided to write down the basic outline of the piece, while still allowing for the improvised nature around which the piece is built. Both players are featured in the “solo” sections as well. This piece is highly favored by performers and audiences making it a wonderful addition to recitals and concerts.
